In this Voice of Averis, we chat with Hidayah, a true blue Kuala Lumpur girl and Business Administration graduate from Universiti Kuala Lumpur. She joined as an intern at Averis and now works as an HR Claims Analyst. Hidayah shares her journey, insights into her role, and her love for exploring hidden gems in the city during her free time.

1. Hi Hidayah! Go ahead and introduce yourself.
   
   
   Hello! Well, I grew up in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur and have spent my life surrounded by its bustling energy. As a fresh graduate of Universiti Kuala Lumpur majoring in Business Administration, I was fortunate to land an internship with Averis two years ago. This opportunity then turned into a full-time job offer, marking the beginning of my career journey. 
   
   During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, hanging out at hip and trendy spots, food-hunting, and just soaking in the local culture. Being born and raised in KL has given me a unique perspective on life, one that combines a strong sense of community with the dynamic pace of an ever-evolving city.
   
   
   
2. So, what does your job at Averis entail?
   
   As a HR Claims Analyst, I play a pivotal role in managing and processing employee claims and having attention to detail is a must. 
   
   On a daily basis, I review documentation, assess claim validity, and ensure that everything is in compliance with company policies and regulations. My job not only requires analytical skills but also excellent communication, as I regularly interact with employees to clarify claim-related queries and at the same time provide guidance on how to submit claims. Basically, my role at Averis is critical to maintain employee satisfaction and trust, and I take pride in contributing to a positive workplace culture.
   
   
   
3. What's your average work day like in Averis?
   
   I start my morning with a cup of coffee while checking my emails. As the morning progresses, I dive right into claims processing. Sometimes, I’ll attend meetings with other HR team members to discuss complex cases or any policy updates. 
   
   Lunch hour is often a social affair, giving me the chance to connect with colleagues and build relationships.
   
   
   
   

4. How do you normally get to work and what do you do to relax during your commute?
   
   I usually drive to work and I enjoy listening to music to boost my energy as I travel to and fro from work.
   
   
   
5. What do you look forward to most at work?
   
   
   I look forward to the dynamic nature of my role, where each day brings new challenges and opportunities for problem-solving. I enjoy interacting with colleagues and other employees, finding satisfaction in helping them navigate claims-related issues. 
   
   Overall, what I look forward to most is the ability to make a positive impact in my workplace by ensuring fair and efficient claims processing while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
   
   
   
6. In your opinion, what's your favourite thing about Averis and why?
   
   
   What I like about Averis is the company culture, which is a harmonious blend of professionalism and friendship bonding. I also value the company's commitment to employee growth and development, with ample opportunities for training, mentorship and career advancement. 
   
   Ultimately, it’s the people and the supportive culture is what makes Averis a great workplace for me.
   
   
   
7. Care to share three fun facts about yourself?
   
   
   
   • They Call Me An Urban Explorer: I love exploring the city and discovering hidden gems, whether it’s a new café, a street food stall, or any fun weekend event. I’m always on the lookout for the next cool spot to hang out at.
   • I’m A Social Butterfly: I’m that friend who’s in charge of organising our group gatherings and outings. My ability to bring people together makes me a social hub and my friends know they always can count on me for a good time.
   • Seeker Of Continuous Learning: Even though I started my career about two years ago, I always enjoy seeking new experiences and gaining knowledge. For example, being involved in the Averis Recreation Club (ARC) where I get to handle events and attend hobby workshops. I believe that this is the best way to further improve my skills, be it professionally or in a leisure space.
     
     
     
8. What do you usually do during your free time?
   
   I like listening to music and enjoying some me-time. Mostly, I enjoy hanging out with my family/friends.
