- Why did you apply for an internship role in Averis?
While searching on various job listing portals, I saw that Averis was offering an internship position for Business Studies students. The role seemed suitable for the course I was taking so I decided to apply for it.
- How do you feel about the company and the team you were working with?
To be honest, I enjoyed working with Averis because they promote a healthy lifestyle at work. I’ve experienced both working from home and in the office and I enjoyed both methods. It was easy for me to adapt to the changes, with the help of my supportive colleagues. I’m also super thankful to my team for helping me whenever I needed them and making me feel comfortable to ask for assistance or any questions.
- What is the most significant moment/project that you have ever worked on as an intern in Averis?
One of the highlights of my internship was assisting the Averis Recreational Cub (ARC) with the distribution of Raya cookies in conjunction with Hari Raya. It was a lot of fun giving out cookies to all Averians, including the guards and janitors because it gave me the chance to get to know everyone. Besides that, I got to visit different building levels that I’ve never been before to check out other departments’ work spaces. I also got the opportunity to be an emcee for the Hari Raya event and it was one of the most unforgettable moments throughout my internship period.
- Share at least one thing that you learned during your internship and how this helped or impacted you.
I learned a lot about the department I’m in, which is Communications, since it is something that I’m not very familiar with. During this time, I learned how to develop an effective communication plan that could convey a comprehensive image of certain event’s content. I also learned how to do copywriting, which is quite challenging for me since it’s such a vital part of drafting a social media content. On top of that, I had the chance to draft several artwork for social media posts about the company’s events, and I realised it’s quite challenging to create a visual, particularly in the corporate design field.
- What motivated you to be a permanent staff member in Averis?
I believe that it was an opportunity that isn’t very easy to come by. Averis also has a fantastic continuous learning environment and I get along very well with my work mates.
